Egypt is a year-round destination, but the experience changes dramatically with the season. Between October and April the Nile Valley is at its most comfortable, with warm days and cool evenings ideal for long days of touring.
Summer belongs to the coasts. While Luxor and Aswan can pass 40°C, the Red Sea keeps a steady breeze and the water sits around a perfect 28°C.
If you want the plateau to yourself, aim for early December or late February and start your touring day at opening time.
