Ship size, cabin deck, route direction and the details that decide how good your week is.
Most cruises run between Luxor and Aswan over three, four or seven nights. Sailing upstream to Aswan gives you gentler mornings; sailing downstream gets you to the temples earlier.
Ask about the deck. Upper-deck cabins have the view, but the lounge above can be noisy at night on larger ships.
Smaller dahabiyas carry a dozen guests and moor at sandbanks the big ships cannot reach.
